Good places to eat in Copenhagen
By Christian
Below is a list of great places to eat in Copenhagen. There’s something for all tastes, and if you’re looking for a food market, we recommend Kødbyen (the Meatpacking District) and Torvehallerne (the Food Halls). Of course, you are also welcome to eat in our own modern and minimalist restaurant, The Harbour. Here you can choose between à la carte and our internationally-inspired menu.
Restaurant Koefoed
If you want authentic Danish food, without it being too traditional, we recommend visiting Restaurant Koefoed. A charming small basement restaurant located in a side street to Borgergade and Store Kongensgade in the centre of Copenhagen, close to Nyhavn. For lunch, open sandwiches are served with a modern twist, and the theme is 'New Nordic Cooking' with simple, fresh Danish flavours. It can be a good idea to book a table in advance, as they are often busy.
Frk. Barnes Kælder
Danish, traditional food from Frk. Barners Kælder is highly recommended. Just a 10-minute walk from the hotel, in the heart of Vesterbro, this restaurant serves sandwiches for lunch and evening dishes just like Grandma used to make.
Kødbyen (Meatpacking District)
Kødbyen (the Meatpacking District) is just a 5-minute walk from the hotel – on the other side of Dybbølsbro. Here you'll find an abundance of different restaurants and take-away options. Whether you're after a quick lunch or a romantic dinner, there’s something for everyone.
Torvehallerne
Torvehallerne is a popular food market right next to Nørreport. It often has a busy and lively atmosphere, as it is visited by more than 60,000 Danes – every week! With opening hours spanning all days of the week, you can't fail to find either lunch or dinner. You can find all kinds of fresh meat, fish and vegetables. Take the train from Dybbølsbro to Nørreport and you will arrive at Copenhagen’s most beautiful food mecca. See more here: torvehallernekbh.dk
Enjoy!
